No one could deny that the spotlight is on government ICT leaders right now. As an ICT function or programme leader, you are being tasked with playing your part in cutting £4 billion from back office and IT spend, and a further £6 billion through collaborative procurement, as part of the Operational Efficiency Review 2009. You are also expecting the forecast reduction in tax revenue to impact negatively on your departmental budget. Yet, you remain under pressure to deliver more efficient value-for-money, modernised and innovative public services that have been designed around and that will engage the citizen. All the while, you are heavily involved with the sustainability agenda in your organisation, because it is the ICT function that is largely considered to be the main source of government carbon emission reductions.

This would be a challenging remit for anybody but this year’s PSICT 2009 has been designed to help you tackle this challenging combination of circumstances and the issues you find on your plate:

This two day event has been produced specifically to help you:

  • Meet and learn from the heads of ICT of organisations that are at the leading edge of government, modernisation, innovation and efficiency
  • Hear first hand accounts of award-winning technology implementations and innovations in the public sector, featuring both back office and public service case-studies
  • Attend practical workshops during which you can raise your ideas and concerns
  • Find out about the latest available services and solutions
